
The UK healthcare industry registered an 8.3% decline in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring decreased by 0.73% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the healthcare industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 14.75% share in June 2021, recording decrease of 1.81% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK healthcare industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.86% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK healthcare industry in June 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60.4% in June 2021, a 24.82% drop over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15.67% share, decline of 15.38% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15.67%, registering a 30.95% rise from May 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 4.27%, down 25% over the previous month.
Top five healthcare companies in the UK IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 18.82% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK healthcare industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
International Business Machines posted 66 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 6.45% over the previous month, followed by Oracle with 33 jobs and a 40% drop. AT&T with 23 IT jobs and Munchener Ruckversicherungs-Gesellschaft(Munich Re) with 16 jobs, recorded a 35.29% growth and a 700% increase, respectively, while Accenture recorded a 74% decline with 13 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.66%, down by 25.08% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 20.51% share, a growth of 2.86% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.84% share, down 31.43% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.99%, recording a month-on-month an increase of 250%.
