The state of Michigan, US, had 165 registered hospitals with 25,233 licensed beds, as of December 2021.
The city of Detroit is home to two of the ten biggest general hospitals in the state while the remaining top eight hospitals are in Royal Oak, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Dearborn, Ypsilanti, Troy and Pontiac.

1. Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak – 1,031 beds
The 1,031-bed Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak is the biggest hospital in Michigan.
Affiliated with the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, the multi-speciality teaching hospital is designated as a Level I adult trauma and a Level II paediatric trauma centre. It performed 12,543 inpatient surgeries and saw 110,250 emergency visits in 2021.
