The multi-specialty teaching hospital is one of the 15 hospitals run by the non-profit health system, Cleveland Clinic, in north-east Ohio. The health system also operates five hospitals in Florida, with more than 1,000 beds.

The University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, located in Cleveland, is a tertiary teaching hospital having 1,032 beds.
Affiliated to the Case Western Reserve University, it is the flagship medical campus of University Hospitals, a non-profit health system based in northeastern Ohio.
Cleveland Medical Center also houses the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and the Seidman Cancer Center. The Ohio State University Hospital, located in Columbus, is the flagship patient care facility of the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
The 900-bed teaching hospital provides inpatient medical care across a range of specialities, from critical care, organ transplantation and women’s health services to minimally invasive surgery, neurosurgery and rehabilitation.
Ohio State University Hospital is designated as a Level I trauma and comprehensive burn centre and houses a Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The Promedica Toledo Hospital is the largest general medical and surgical facility in the Toledo metropolitan area in Ohio, with 859 beds.
Designated as a Level 1 trauma centre, the multi-speciality hospital is run by Promedica, a non-profit healthcare network comprising 11 hospitals across north-west Ohio and south-east Michigan.
Promedica Toledo Hospital is rated high performing in 13 adult procedures and conditions related to cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, nephrology, orthopaedics, gastroenterology and GI surgery, stroke management and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
6. Miami Valley Hospital – 848 beds
Located in downtown Dayton, the Miami Valley Hospital is an 848-bed acute care facility run by Premier Health.
Premier Health is a private, non-profit healthcare system operating five inpatient hospital campuses in south-west Ohio.
Miami Valley Hospital is recognised as the region’s only adult Level I trauma centre, as well as a comprehensive stroke and burns centre in the region. It also houses a high-risk maternity and Level III NICU. The hospital is rated high performing in the adult specialities of orthopaedics, urology, pulmonology and lung surgery.
7. Aultman Hospital – 820 beds
The Aultman Hospital, located in Canton, is a general medical and surgical facility having 820 licensed beds.
It is the flagship campus of Aultman Health Foundation, a non-profit healthcare provider serving Stark, Carroll, Wayne, Holmes and Tuscarawas counties in Ohio.
Aultman Hospital is recognised as a Level II trauma centre and is rated high performing in 11 adult procedures and conditions related to cardiology and heart surgery, colon cancer surgery, diabetes, kidney failure, stroke management, hip and knee replacement, COPD and pneumonia.
8. MetroHealth Main Campus Medical Center – 731 beds
The MetroHealth Main Campus Medical Center, located in Cleveland, has 731 beds. It is the flagship hospital campus of MetroHealth, an integrated health system that operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centres in Ohio’s Cuyahoga County.
The MetroHealth Main Campus hospital is known for emergency care and comprehensive medical and surgical specialities related to cardiovascular, cancer and senior health care, as well as stroke management and rehabilitative health care.
