Australia’s healthcare industry registered a 13.7% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 48.93% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the healthcare industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 12.44% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 1.89% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Australia’s healthcare industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.23% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s healthcare industry in September 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 60.93% in September 2021, registering a 3.49% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 20.57% share, an increase of 50.94% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 8.74%, registering a 3.03% rise from August 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 5.14%, up 17.65% over the previous month.

Top five healthcare companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 1.89% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s healthcare industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

Accenture posted 76 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 11.76% over the previous month, followed by Cognizant Technology Solutions with 44 jobs and a 40.54% drop. Suncorp Group with 34 IT jobs and Dai-ichi Life Holdings with 28 jobs, recorded a 21.43% flat growth and a 33.33% flat growth, respectively, while International Business Machines recorded an increase of 23.81% with 26 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.78%, up by 8.62% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 22.88% share, registered an increase of 15.58% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.57% share, up 50% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.77%, recording a month-on-month increase of 200%.
