Canada’s healthcare industry registered a 3.0% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.28% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the healthcare industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1% share in November 2022, recording an increase of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Canada’s healthcare industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s healthcare industry in November 2022.

1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 67.69% in November 2022, registering a 12.82% growth over the previous month.

2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 15.38% share, an increase of 42.86% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 7.69%, registering a 66.67% rise from October 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 6.15%, up 33.33% over the previous month.

Top five healthcare companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 6.9% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s healthcare industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

Alberta Health Services posted 44 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 8.33% over the previous month, followed by Vancouver Coastal Health with 7 jobs and a 250% growth. McKesson with 5 IT jobs and Mackenzie Health with 4 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 33.33% growth, respectively, while Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.54%, down by 23.08% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 30.77% share, registered an increase of 66.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.69% share, flat growth over October 2022.
