Canada’s healthcare industry IT recruitment activity rises 10.5% in July 2022

Canada’s healthcare industry registered a 10.5% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.98% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the healthcare industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 0.99% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.01% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Canada’s healthcare industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s healthcare industry in July 2022.

1) Computer and Information Analysts recorded a share of 54.39% in July 2022, registering a 24% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 14.04% share, a flat growth over the previous month.

3) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers held a share of 12.28%, registering a 16.67% rise from June 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 12.28%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five healthcare companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 28.57% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s healthcare industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Alberta Health Services posted 39 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 39.29% over the previous month, followed by Penticton Regional Hospital with 6 jobs and a 20% growth. Trillium Health Partners with 4 IT jobs and McKesson with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Vancouver Coastal Health recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.16%, up by 9.09% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.81% share, registered an increase of 62.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 14.04% share, flat growth over June 2022.
