Europe witnessed a 0.8% rise in IT hiring activity in the healthcare industry in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.

April 2022 has seen a decrease of 3.48% in the overall hiring activity when compared with March 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 1.41% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in April 2022, registering a decrease of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in April 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 37.93% in April 2022, a flat growth over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 24.14% in April 2022, marking a 133.33% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 17.24% in April 2022, a 44.44% drop from March 2022.

Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 13.79% in April 2022, a 300% rise over the previous month.

Top five healthcare companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 72.73% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s healthcare industry during April 2022 over previous month.

Penticton Regional Hospital posted 5 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered an increase of 150% over the previous month, followed by Elanco Animal Health with 4 jobs and a flat growth. Pharmacy2U with 4 IT jobs and Fontys University of Applied Sciences with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 200% rise, respectively, while Ramsay Health Care recorded a 25% decline with 3 job postings during April 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s healthcare industry

The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 20.69% share in April 2022, a 25% decrease over March 2022. Canada featured next with a 17.24% share, up 150% over the previous month. Poland recorded a 13.79% share, a flat growth compared with March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.72%, down by 16.67% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.59% share, registered a growth of 166.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 20.69% share, up 50% over March 2022.
