The global just drinks industry noticed a 5.8% rise in IT hiring activity in April 2022 over the previous month, led by PepsiCo’s 20.06% share, according to GlobalData’s Jobs Analytics database.
The just drinks industry’s overall hiring activity increased 1.73% when compared with March 2022.
Noticeably, IT jobs accounted for a 2.86% share of the global just drinks industry’s hiring activity in April 2022, up 0.2% over the last three-month average share.
According to GlobalData, IT job opportunities available at the end of April 2022 were 8.16% higher when compared with the previous month.
The increase was a result of 12.94% lower job postings as compared to job closures during the month.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 55.3% emerged as the top IT occupation in the just drinks hiring activity in April 2022, a 20.63% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in second with a share of 14.33% in April 2022, up 61.29% over the previous month.
The other prominent IT roles include Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a 14.04% share in April 2022, a flat growth over the previous month, and Computer and Information Analysts with an 8.88% share in April 2022 and a drop of 11.43% over March 2022.
Top five just drinks companies by recruitment activity in April 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 26.2% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of global just drinks industry during April 2022 over March 2022.
PepsiCo posted 70 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a rise of 12.9% over the previous month, followed by Carlsberg with 67 jobs and a 21.82% growth. The Coca-Cola with 49 IT jobs and Anheuser-Busch InBev with 27 jobs, recorded a 96% growth and a 12.9% drop, respectively, while Coca-Cola Consolidated recorded a 64.29% rise with 23 job postings during April 2022.
Regional composition of IT hiring in just drinks industry
North America emerged as the leading region in the global just drinks IT hiring activity in April 2022 with a 65.04% share, which marked a 15.23% rise over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 23.5%, registering a 13.89% month-on-month growth. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 9.17% share and a 68.42% rise over March 2022.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 1.72% and a month-on-month rise of 20%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.57%, registering a flat growth over the previous month.
