The global just food industry noticed an 8.8% rise in IT hiring activity in April 2022 over the previous month, led by Nestle’s 62.45% share, according to GlobalData’s Jobs Analytics database.
The just food industry’s overall hiring activity increased 3.45% when compared with March 2022.
Noticeably, IT jobs accounted for a 2.23% share of the global just food industry’s hiring activity in April 2022, up 0.43% over the last three-month average share.
According to GlobalData, IT job opportunities available at the end of April 2022 were 14.91% higher when compared with the previous month.
The increase was a result of 10.95% lower job postings as compared to job closures during the month.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 48.92% emerged as the top IT occupation in the just food hiring activity in April 2022, a 0.57% growth over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in second with a share of 19.02% in April 2022, up 38.31% over the previous month.
The other prominent IT roles include Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a 16.53% share in April 2022, a decline of 7.45% over the previous month, and Computer and Information Analysts with a 10.93% share in April 2022 and a rise of 14.53% over March 2022.
Top five just food companies by recruitment activity in April 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 8.8% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of global just food industry during April 2022 over March 2022.
Nestle posted 1,126 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a rise of 67.56% over the previous month, followed by The J. R. Simplot with 113 jobs and a 51.71% decline. Rich Products with 67 IT jobs and Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 47 jobs, recorded a 63.59% decline and a 68.24% drop, respectively, while JBS recorded a 4.35% drop with 44 job postings during April 2022.
Regional composition of IT hiring in just food industry
North America emerged as the leading region in the global just food IT hiring activity in April 2022 with a 48.2% share, which marked a 19.39% drop over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 28.12%, registering a 61.98% month-on-month growth. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 20.63% share and a 30.07% rise over March 2022.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 2.38% and a month-on-month rise of 16.22%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.67%, registering a 71.43% increase over the previous month.
