North America witnessed a 3.1% drop in IT hiring activity in the healthcare industry in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
July 2022 has seen a decrease of 3.54% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 1.28% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering an increase of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 33.3% in July 2022, an 18.62% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 24.15% in July 2022, marking a 28.59% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 22.58% in July 2022, a 16.44% drop from June 2022.
Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 9.2% in July 2022, a 21.78% decline over the previous month.
Top five healthcare companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 13.18% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s healthcare industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Intermountain Healthcare posted 423 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a decline of 26.56% over the previous month, followed by UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center with 124 jobs and a flat growth. CVS Health with 110 IT jobs and Laboratoryof America Holdings with 81 jobs, recorded a 40.54% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while McKesson recorded a 24.59% decline with 46 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s healthcare industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 97.18% share in July 2022, a 13.66% decrease over June 2022. Canada featured next with a 2.72% share, up 15.56% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.1% share, a growth of 100% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.94%, up by 3.13% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.31% share, registered a decline of 36.82% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.59% share, down 17.2% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.16%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
