The US’s healthcare industry registered a 1.9% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.5% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the healthcare industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.24% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s healthcare industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.53% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s healthcare industry in August 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 36.3% in August 2022, registering a 1.36% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 23.5% share, an increase of 0.21% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 17.88%, registering a 20.09% decline from July 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 13.19%, up 52.54% over the previous month.

Top five healthcare companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 11.36% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s healthcare industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Intermountain Healthcare posted 244 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 42.45% over the previous month, followed by Apria Healthcare Group with 158 jobs and a 15700% growth. CVS Health with 145 IT jobs and WellSky with 82 jobs, recorded a 31.82% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Laboratoryof America Holdings recorded a decline of 29.63% with 57 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.52%, down by 11.22% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.04% share, registered an increase of 10.81% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.24% share, up 26.07% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.2%, recording a month-on-month increase of 33.33%.
