The US’s healthcare industry registered a 10.8% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 5.69% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the healthcare industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.19% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.09% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s healthcare industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.22% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s healthcare industry in October 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 28.85% in October 2022, registering a 40.58% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 22.77% share, a decrease of 46.92% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 16.02%, registering a 0.76% decline from September 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 15.41%, down 10.36% over the previous month.

Top five healthcare companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 45.48% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s healthcare industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Apria Healthcare Group posted 216 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by CVS Health with 151 jobs and a 12.72% drop. Laboratoryof America Holdings with 63 IT jobs and Intermountain Healthcare with 60 jobs, recorded a 16% decline and a 91.24% decrease, respectively, while UPMC Health System recorded an increase of 16.67% with 35 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.01%, down by 27.27% from September 2022. Entry Level positions with an 18.54% share, registered a decline of 31.67% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 16.27% share, down 53.99% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.18%, recording a month-on-month decline of 40%.
