Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations drive virtual care-related hiring activity
Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations, with a share of 49%, emerged as the top virtual care-related job roles within the healthcare industry in Q4 2023, with new job postings drop by 51% quarter-on-quarter. Healthcare Support Occupations came in second with a share of 10% in Q4 2023, with new job postings dropping by 56% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent virtual care roles include Management Occupations with a 5% share in Q4 2023, Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 4% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in healthcare industry accounted for 45% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q4 2023 were Virtua Health, Mission Health, PIH Health Hospital-Whittier, Tenet Healthcare, and DispatchHealth. Together they accounted for a combined share of 45% of all virtual care-related new jobs in the healthcare industry.
Virtua Health posted 985 virtual care-related new jobs in Q4 2023, Mission Health 680 jobs, PIH Health Hospital-Whittier 485 jobs, Tenet Healthcare 430 jobs, and DispatchHealth 316 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 96.20% share of total new job postings, Q4 2023
The largest share of virtual care-related new job postings in the healthcare industry in Q4 2023 was in the US with 96.20% followed by Canada (1.02%) and the UK (0.93%). The share represented by the US was eight percentage points higher than the 88.48% share it accounted for in Q3 2023.
