Europe’s five largest hospital construction projects that commenced in Q1 2022

Here are Europe’s five largest hospital construction projects that were initiated in Q1 2022, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. Nantes New CHU Hospital Development – $1,424m

The project involves the construction of a new 2,25,000m2 area hospital complex with medical facilities on a 10.1ha of land in Nantes, Pays de la Loire region, France.

Construction work started in Q1 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2027.

The project is located on the former site of the Marché d’Intérêt National (MIN).

2. Evora Public Central Hospital – $210m

The project involves the construction of a hospital in Évora, Alentejo, Portugal.

Construction work commenced in Q1 2022 and is expected to finish in Q4 2023.

The objective of the project is to meet the healthcare needs of the people in the region.

3. Hospital of Cattinara Redevelopment – $180m

The project involves the construction of two, six-story 55m-tall hospital buildings with 20,439m2 area comprising 730 beds on 22.2ha of land in Trieste, Italy.

Construction work started in Q1 2022 and is forecast to complete in Q2 2024.

4. Viljandi Hospital and Health Center – $90m

The project involves the construction of 23,000m2 health center in Viljandi, Viljandimaa, Estonia.

Construction work commenced in Q1 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2023.

The project aims to provide better health care facilities in the region.

5. Costa del Sol Hospital Expansion – $90m

The project involves the expansion of the Costa del Sol Hospital with a total gross floor area of 35,000m2 in Marbella, Málaga, Andalusia, Spain.

Construction work started in Q1 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2024.

The project’s aim is to meet the growing demand for healthcare facilities in the region.
