Here are the top five healthcare building construction projects that commenced in the US in Q4 2021, according to GlobalData’s construction projects database.

1. Irvine Advanced Care Facility – $1,300m

The project involves the construction of a 15,607m2 five-story advanced care facilities comprising 144 beds in Irvine, California.

Construction work started in Q4 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2025.

The project aims to be a one-stop outpatient care facilities for adults and children.

2. Children’s Mental Health Hospital – $1,000m

The project involves the construction of a 14-story mental health hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.

Construction work commenced in Q4 2021 and is expected to finish in Q3 2025.

The aim of the project is to provide intensive treatment for children.

3. New Robley Rex VA Medical Center – $840m

The project involves the construction of a nine-story 111,483m2 medical center comprising 104 inpatient beds at 4906 Brownsboro Road in Louisville, Kentucky.

Construction work started in Q4 2021 and is forecast to complete in Q4 2025.

Robley Rex VA Medical Center is working to meet the specific needs of veterans. The benefits include maternity care and free treatment for any sexual trauma they may have experienced in service.

4. South Florida Baptist Hospital – $326m

The project involves the construction of a 7,896m2 hospital in Plant City, Florida.

Construction work commenced in Q4 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q1 2024.

The project aims to provide better healthcare facilities in the region.

5. McCalla Hospital Development – $290m

The project involves the construction of a 38,276m2, nine-story, 200-bed hospital in Jefferson County, Alabama.

Construction work started in Q4 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2024.

The main aim of the project is to replace the Medical West facilities in Bessemer to provide better medical facilities in the region.
