US-based radiation oncology company Accuray has opened its new global training facility, the Accuray Center for Education, at its headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin, US.

This centre is designed to advance radiotherapy treatment techniques, particularly in precision cancer care.

It features Accuray radiation therapy systems for training, lab spaces with advanced remote learning capabilities, and a hybrid in-person/remote connection option to allow multiple medical care team members to participate in courses simultaneously from different locations.

The facility offers ongoing learning opportunities for healthcare practitioners, covering Accuray’s CyberKnife, TomoTherapy, and Radixact systems.

Education modalities are said to range from in-person training at the facility to on-site and self-paced remote learning.

Accuray provides a MicroLearning Program, offering short education modules headed by clinical specialists.

It also offers Accuray Exchange (AEx), a platform for users of Accuray’s systems to share knowledge and experiences, thereby improving cancer and neurologic condition treatments.

Accuray president and CEO Suzanne Winter said: “Our customers are passionate about improving the lives of people diagnosed with cancer and certain neurologic conditions.

“That’s why we work hand-in-hand with them to help ensure they get the most out of their Accuray products and are able to provide their patients with the highest quality treatments.

“Education – not just one course but ongoing opportunities for knowledge sharing – is key to making this happen.

“We are committed to delivering the optimal learning experience for our customers and believe our robust education programme, with our new Madison training facility, will do just that.”
