AdventHealth’s West Florida Division has held a topping-out ceremony for its AdventHealth Riverview Hospital in West Florida.
The ceremony marks the completion of the hospital’s four-storey structure.
The 282,000ft² hospital will offer a range of services, including emergency care, cardiology, obstetrics, gynaecology, orthopaedics and urology.
It will initially have 82 patient beds, but this could be increased to 200 in the future.
The facility will also feature a medical office plaza, which is intended to create a comprehensive healthcare hub.
AdventHealth West Florida Division president and CEO David Ottati said: “The topping out of AdventHealth Riverview Hospital is a significant milestone in our efforts to expand our reach and provide convenient access to quality healthcare throughout West Florida.
“Our partnership with Robins & Morton and HuntonBrady has been invaluable in our expansion efforts and we’re excited to continue working together to improve the health of the communities that we serve.”
Scheduled to open next year, the AdventHealth Riverview Hospital is expected to create around 2,000 jobs for local residents.
Robins & Morton is the general contractor for the project, while HuntonBrady is its architect.
AdventHealth Riverview president and CEO Jason Newmyer said: “We are excited to bring our brand of whole person and high-quality healthcare to the fast-growing Riverview community.
“We look forward to improving the health and wellbeing of the community when we open our new hospital in the fall of 2024.”
Robins & Morton Tampa office leader Todd Watson said: “We’re proud to once again work with AdventHealth West Florida Division to build a new, full-service hospital for our community.
“This hospital will serve Riverview for generations to come, and it’s a great feeling to know that our teams had a hand in making it a reality.”
Last month, AdventHealth broke ground on a hospital at its Lenexa City Center campus in Kansas.
