Aidoc has collaborated with Belgium-based University Hospital Brussels (UZ Brussel) for the expedited treatment of pulmonary embolism (PE) with artificial intelligence (AI).

The company will work with UZ Brussel’s Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) to deploy AI for cross-departmental care coordination to expedite treatment for suspected PE patients.

Aidoc automatically identifies suspected positive PE cases and sends an automatic alert to PERT, facilitating quick decision-making and the delivery of treatment.

Aidoc’s always-on AI system is already in use at UZ Brussel, evaluating chest CT exams for PE and giving priority to potential positive cases within the radiology workflow.

When Aidoc’s AI detects a suspected acute PE case, the PERT team, which includes an interventional radiologist, pulmonologist, cardiologist, and intensivist, are alerted through Aidoc’s mobile app.
