Northwell Health hospitals has tapped clinical AI company Aidoc to implement an enterprise-wide clinical AI strategy across 17 of its hospitals in New York.

The aim is to accelerate time to treatment and optimise care resources.

As part of this partnership, Aidoc’s AI operating system (aiOS) will integrate AI algorithms into customisable clinical workflows, supporting timely care interventions and next-best actions for clinicians.

The comprehensive AI strategy is expected to drive efficiency and improve patient care throughout the organisation.

Northwell Health senior vice president and chief information officer Sophy Lu Barbieri said: “The current health care climate continues to be defined by increasing costs and workforce burnout requiring new approaches to maintaining exceptional quality through optimising efficiency.

“Time efficiency remains of utmost importance in today’s health care landscape, whether it’s delivering care or making a diagnosis.
