American Hospital Dubai has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in the US for the construction of a new medical college in Dubai. 

The new college is being established to provide a curriculum that combines medical knowledge with enquiry-based learning, while contributing to the UAE’s healthcare sector by training future physician leaders, Gulf News reported.

As part of the MoU, American Hospital Dubai and BCM will work together to establish a BCM medical school campus on the former’s premises.  

The new medical college will operate within American Hospital Dubai, utilising various hospital departments such as anaesthesiology, dermatology, education, microbiology, innovation and technology, biochemistry and molecular pharmacology, and emergency medicine, among others.  

In addition, the college aims to create a campus culture with programmes that support student wellness and a passion for lifelong learning, providing a comprehensive environment for educational and personal growth.
