Avesta Ketamine and Wellness has announced the opening of a new ketamine clinic in Columbia, Maryland, US, for mental health and pain management treatments.

Avesta’s latest facility is situated at 5840 Banneker Road, Suite 270, joining the organisation’s current clinics in Northwest Washington, District of Columbia; Bethesda, Maryland; and McLean, Virginia.

It marks Avesta’s fourth ketamine clinic in the region.

Patients seeking treatment at the new clinic will have access to a variety of ketamine therapy protocols. These include IV ketamine therapy, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved Spravato therapy, IV vitamins, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP).

Avesta’s approach involves working with patients’ mental health providers to tailor treatments to individual needs, personal objectives, and medical histories.

Avesta co-CEO Deborah Tan said: “As part of Avesta’s patient-first approach, we are committed to making ketamine therapy more accessible to Columbia area residents while simplifying the insurance process.

“We know that seeking ketamine therapy is a big decision, so our team works diligently to ease financial barriers to treatment, particularly for those who feel like they have run out of options. Our compassionate, collaborative, and patient-first approach continues to raise DMV’s standard for safe and effective healing.”

The clinical team at the organisation is led by founder Dr Ladan Eshkevari, who brings over three decades of experience in anaesthesia, pain management, and alternative medicine.

The team comprises a board-certified anaesthesiologist, nurse practitioners, integration specialists, nurse anaesthetists, a dedicated insurance assistance team, patient care coordinators, and medical assistants.

Avesta claims to have administered more than 10,000 ketamine infusions in the past eight years. These treatments have been used for a range of conditions, including anxiety, migraines, and depression, among others.
