Burjeel Medical City has launched the Advanced Gynaecology Institute (AGI) in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to provide comprehensive healthcare solutions for women.

The launch of the AGI comes a few months after Burjeel Medical City, which is the flagship hospital of Burjeel Holdings, teamed up with the Franco-European Multidisciplinary Institute of Endometriosis Academy (IFEM Endo).

The establishment of AGI is claimed to be a significant milestone in advancing women’s healthcare in the region.

The institute features three specialised clinics: Gynaecological Oncology, IFEM Endo Middle East Clinic, and Complex Gynaecology Care.

IFEM Endo founding member Professor Horace Roman will lead AGI alongside a team of experienced medical professionals.

AGI is equipped with surgical suites and modern technology, enabling advanced procedures including laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.

The institute will focus on treating gynaecological cancers, preserving reproductive function, and enhancing the quality of life for patients with advanced or recurrent gynaecological malignancies.

Additionally, AGI offers highly advanced minimally invasive surgeries for endometriosis.

Roman said: “The institute’s launch is a significant milestone in women’s healthcare in the region.

“Women’s health needs are diverse and complex, requiring a holistic approach to ensure that each patient receives personalised care that meets her specific needs.”

The expert team at AGI will also actively engage in clinical research and training initiatives.

Burjeel Holdings CEO John Sunil said: “The institute showcases our commitment to excellence and cements our position as a leader in complex care.

“With a focus on specialised clinics and personalised care, the institute is poised to make a significant impact on the healthcare sector in the UAE and beyond.”
