San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in California has selected Allscripts’s Sunrise Community Care, an electronic health record (EHR) suite designed especially for community hospitals.

Sunrise Community Care offers community hospitals, which have less than 100-bed capacity, with a cloud-based EHR  platform.

This Microsoft Azure-hosted, single platform EHR is designed to cater to clinical, financial and ambulatory content for the smooth running of the community hospitals.

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital provides a diverse range of personalised healthcare services.

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital CEO Steve Barron said: “We chose Sunrise Community Care due to it being built especially for the unique challenges community hospitals face.We believe Allscripts and the power of Sunrise Community Care will provide us with the tools and partnership needed to deliver coordinated care across settings—all while providing the best possible patient care.”

The integrated Sunrise Community Care includes managed services, software and maintenance services. It also provides regular upgrades so that features and content are kept up to date.

As compared to traditional on-premise implementation, this EHR  is claimed to offer an overall improved cost of ownership and shorter implementation times.

The platform is also claimed to relieve administrators and clinicians from the hassle of configuring an EHR.

Allscripts vice president for client development Nicole Faucher said: “Sunrise Community Care is designed to help meet the unique clinical and financial needs of community hospitals, with a single patient record across the enterprise, enabling their teams to provide safer, more informed patient care.

“This solution will help San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital improve outcomes, increase patient satisfaction and decrease clinician burnout.”
