Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC), a healthcare services provider in Southern West Virginia, US, has adopted Oracle Health’s RevElate Patient Accounting platform to enhance the accuracy of CAMC’s billing services.

As a result of this partnership, CAMC has integrated the patient accounting platform from Oracle across some of its ambulatory clinics as well as four Charleston facilities, streamlining the integration of financial and clinical data.

This deployment allows for a more standardised approach, reducing errors and automating processes at CAMC, Oracle Health noted.

RevElate Patient Accounting is an electronic health record-agnostic, single go-forward solution.

It is designed to simplify complex billing operations, automate revenue cycle workflows, and enable healthcare organisations to achieve better financial outcomes.

According to Oracle Health, the adoption of RevElate not only eliminates repetitive manual tasks but also expedites reimbursements.

By leveraging automation and intelligence, CAMC can now redirect resources from time-consuming tasks to more critical initiatives.

Oracle Health and Life Sciences executive vice president and general manager Seema Verma said: “Oracle Health RevElate Patient Accounting is helping customers enhance productivity, drive revenue, and increase clean claims.”

CAMC revenue cycle vice president Christine Sturtevant added: “Our RevElate Patient Accounting go live went extremely well.

“The transparency we’ve gained allows us to improve front end processes to ensure we are not only capturing revenue accurately, but we can also confirm reimbursement is received for services provided.

“Revenue has remained strong, and the clean claim rate has increased. We are actively working to schedule additional facilities to prepare for go lives.”

Established in 1972, CAMC is a non-profit, 1,103-bed regional referral centre comprising six hospitals and various other medical education and research facilities.

These hospitals and facilities include CAMC General Hospital, CAMC Plateau Medical Center, CAMC Memorial Hospital and CAMC Teays Valley Hospital.
