Digital health start-up Capreolos has rolled out its first product, the Ready4OP app, aimed at supporting patients in their preparation for major surgical procedures in the chest and abdomen.
The app offers knowledge about the surgeries, providing patients with scientifically accurate information and facts to enhance their understanding and confidence during doctor consultations.

It serves as a digital companion, equipping patients with a guide to questions for discussions with their surgeon.
The Ready4OP app is available for free on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, serving as a learning tool for surgeries, including cancer interventions, bariatric procedures, and hernia repairs.
Capreolos CEO Andreas Schnitzbauer said: “Many patients are unable to correctly interpret the consequences of an illness on their health and find it difficult to ask their doctor the right questions.
“In addition, the stressful daily demands of physicians can make it a challenge to recognise the varying levels of knowledge and health literacy of patients. Doctors cannot assume specialist knowledge on the patient side.
