Central Carolina Hospital (CCH) in the US has announced the permanent appointments of Dave Santoemma as its new chief executive officer (CEO) and Connette Gill as chief nursing officer (CNO). 

Both executives, who previously held their respective roles on an interim basis, will continue their leadership permanently. 

With more than 19 years of experience in the healthcare sector, Santoemma steps into the CEO role after serving as the chief operating officer at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, Tennessee.  

Before joining Starr, Santoemma served the role of associate administrator at Saline Health System in Benton, Arkansas.  

Assuming the new role, he will continue to focus on enhancing access to quality patient care in Sanford and the surrounding areas. 

Meanwhile, the new CNO, Connette Gill, has more than 23 years of nursing leadership.

Gill assumed this role after her tenure at Frye Regional Hospital in Hickory, North Carolina, where she served as assistant CNO and director of the Cardiovascular ICU.  

She also made contributions as part of Lifepoint Health CNO leadership academy, making significant improvements in patient satisfaction scores and healthcare delivery.  

In addition, Gill led other key initiatives in drug diversion, operational efficiency, and addressing healthcare disparities.

CCH, a Duke LifePoint Hospital, is a 137-bed acute care facility which employs more than 120 physicians and nearly 450 staff members.  

Since 1981, the hospital has been delivering various healthcare services, including emergency medicine, gynaecology, nephrology, podiatry, pulmonary medicine, and wound care, to Lee County and nearby regions.  

Some of the inpatient / outpatient services offered at CCH include a labour and delivery unit with a level 2 nursery, a joint replacement programme, an emergency department, and various laboratories.
