US-based academic paediatric acute care hospital system Children’s Hospital Colorado and the University of Colorado (CU) Anschutz Medical Campus have launched the Colorado Child Health Research Institute.
This partnership is set to streamline paediatric health research and enhance clinical care by uniting more than 500 experts, including physician scientists, nurse scientists, PhD scholars, and other investigators, in a campus-wide initiative.
The institute’s primary objective is to optimise administrative and operational processes, allowing researchers to concentrate on scientific advancements and hasten the application of their findings to benefit patients as well as their families.
Additionally, it grants access to a vast array of nearly 1,100 clinical research studies.
The institute fosters a multidisciplinary approach to child health research, pooling resources from Children’s Colorado along with six CU Anschutz Medical Campus health professional schools, including College of Nursing, School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, among others.
It provides a centralised hub for research activities, offering support in various key areas including strategy, research business services, operations, clinical research contracting, data science, research informatics, regulatory affairs, and education.
