UK-based analytics company Clarivate has added German hospital prescribing insights to its Clarivate Patient Data Intelligence (CPDI) self-service platform.
This data product gathers aggregated and anonymised speciality prescribing habits across brands and diseases in hospitals across Germany.
The insights obtained from hospital electronic health record (EHR) software will provide an idea of treatments prescribed and administered in German hospitals.
Life sciences professionals can use this data to assess the prescribed drugs’ volumes by various physician specialities.
Firms in the pharma sector can leverage this to boost their commercial targeting strategies, by gaining insights on specialities with the most interest in their services over their competitors.
Clarivate product vice-president Zoe Barker said: “Significant investment of resources is required to analyse real-world data products, particularly to understand the European market landscape, patient behaviour, and prescribing habits.
“Such investment can delay the success of drug launches.
“With the addition of German hospital prescribing insights, Clarivate continues to deliver market-leading intelligence that empowers life science and healthcare organizations to create a healthier tomorrow.”
The CPDI platform offers aggregated and anonymised views of dispensing and prescribing patterns and patient behaviour.
This platform, which is claimed to be the first supplier of the new data offering, serves Italy, France, Spain, and Germany, among other markets.
