US-based non-profit medical centre Cleveland Clinic has opened a Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center, which aims to enhance the well-being of women in midlife and older.
The centre focuses on four primary areas, namely connectivity, access, education, and research and innovation.
It consolidates a range of speciality care services such as cardiovascular care, behavioural health, menopause, breast health and healthy ageing, as well as a centre for infant and maternal health.
Other services at the facility include osteoporosis and metabolic bone density, endocrinology and weight management, wellness and disease prevention, and the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement prevention and research centre, which is planned to undergo expansion to better serve patients in Ohio.
The Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center currently serves patients in Ohio and Michigan, with plans to expand its reach to Florida in the future.
Cleveland Clinic chief of staff Beri Ridgeway said: “Midlife is an important milestone and a time to empower women to address health issues and focus on future health.
