DISC Surgery Center at Carlsbad in California, US, has formed a partnership with Tri-City Medical Center to provide spine and musculoskeletal care in the North County region.

This partnership coincides with DISC’s new outpatient facility launch and is built upon three foundational pillars.

Tri-City Medical Center president and CEO Dr Gene Ma said: “This partnership is helping us redefine how we deliver spine and musculoskeletal care.

“What DISC has accomplished in the outpatient setting is extraordinary. By aligning our capabilities and resources, we’re empowering patients with a more advanced, patient-centric healthcare experience from diagnosis to recovery.”

The first pillar of the DISC Tri-City partnership is an equity partnership, with Tri-City becoming a stakeholder in the surgery centre situated within its Health & Wellness Complex.

The second is integrated programme development, where both entities are co-creating a spine and musculoskeletal programme that leverages their collective strengths.

This initiative aims to optimise technology and care delivery.

The third pillar focuses on providing seamless ancillary services, streamlining the patient experience by integrating imaging, diagnostics, cardiac clearances, as well as pre- and post-operative care and rehabilitation.

DISC founding partner Dr Robert Bray, Jr said: “Partnering with an established community hospital like Tri-City is a unique opportunity. Together, we are shaping the future of spine and musculoskeletal care in a way that benefits patients, providers, and the community alike.”

The DISC Surgery Center is outfitted with advanced surgical technology, which encompasses robotic joint platforms, operating microscopes, image guidance systems, anaesthesia monitoring, arthroscopy towers, and C-arms for digital imaging.

The facility has also received accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
