US-based electronic health record (EHR) solutions provider DocNow has completed a Series Seed investment round.

The round was led by Waterline Ventures, a Massachusetts-based venture capital company that invests in healthcare technology and services companies.

Founded in 2019, DocNow offers EHR and wound care management solutions for post-acute healthcare providers.

The DocNow platform is tailored to the specific needs of each practice, offering assistive note generation, advanced templating, and bi-directional integrations with existing facility electronic medical records (EMRs), such as PointClickCare and MatrixCare.

By seamlessly integrating with facility EMRs, DocNow enables medical professionals to see more patients and generate additional revenue per visit while significantly reducing the time needed to carry out administrative work.

The platform automates healthcare provider workflows, and its charge capture has been instrumental in improving billing accuracy and compliance.

According to DocNow, a key feature of its platform for wound care providers is a mobile application that allows efficient documentation of photos, measurements, and wound-specific assessments.

The latest capital injection will enable DocNow to expedite the development of innovative features while maintaining a strong customer focus.

It will also be used for expanding DocNow’s services across the post-acute care network.

DocNow CEO and founder Dr Kashif Saeed said: “We are on a mission to fundamentally change the post-acute care space by providing modern technology for providers.

“Based on growing market demand, we are very excited to partner with Waterline to scale our operations as we become the leader in the post-acute care EHR space.”

DocNow’s platform currently caters to a range of medical specialities, including cardiology/pulmonology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and internal medicine, as well as behavioural health, including both psychiatry and psychology.

The company’s approach has led to partnerships with nearly 2,000 long-term care facilities.

Earlier this year, DoctorNow finalised a national agreement with Venture Medical to enhance EHR processes and the overall efficiency of the supply chain for wound care products.
