Elliot Hospital in Manchester has unveiled its newly expanded and renovated emergency department, which will officially open on June 13.
The renovation project included an expansion of 22,000ft2 of the existing building to improve patient privacy, operational flow, and the integration of advanced technology.
Being named the Irving and Bernice Singer Emergency Department in recognition of the Singer family’s contributions to the community, the facility features 32 private exam rooms, three trauma rooms, an expanded triage area, and advanced infection control measures.
The expansion aligns with best practices learned from the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring the hospital’s readiness for future surges in demand.
With a commitment to providing high-quality care, Elliot Hospital continues to offer specialised paediatric emergency services and embedded behavioural health specialists.
The project was made possible with the support of key donors, including Robert Singer, Brady Sullivan Properties, and The Elliot Hospital Associates.
