Post-acute healthcare services provider Encompass Health has unveiled plans to build an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Texas, US with an investment of $25m.

Set to be located at The Reserve at Grand Parkway in Katy, the new 40-bed health care facility will offer complete rehabilitative services and 24×7 registered nursing care to patients.

Encompass Health noted that the hospital will provide treatment for various types of ailments and injuries, including stroke and other neurological disorders, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions.

Encompass Health southwest region president Frank Brown said: “Encompass Health has been providing high-quality, cost-effective post-acute care in Texas for almost 28 years.

“Through customised, comprehensive care, we help patients regain independence and restore function after they have experienced a life-changing illness or injury.

“We are excited for the opportunity to extend our services to Katy and serve even more patients requiring rehabilitative care.”

Additional facilities available at the hospital include a therapy gym, rehabilitation technologies, in-house pharmacy and courtyard.

The project will create approximately 90 full-time jobs to the community. Construction is scheduled to commence this year, while the patient care will start next year.

Encompass Health offers post-acute services in 36 states and Puerto Rico. The company manages 23 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, 53 home health locations and nine hospice locations within its network in Texas.
