Revenue cycle management company Ensemble has entered a collaboration with Solventum to introduce an autonomous coding solution designed to serve all medical specialities, encompassing inpatient services in hospitals.

This partnership is set to integrate Solventum’s AI technology with Ensemble’s operational capabilities, aiming to automate accurate coding while preventing revenue loss on a national scale.

Solventum Health Information Systems president Garri Garrison said: “Our collaboration with Ensemble represents a significant step forward in the evolution of autonomous coding.

“By leveraging Ensemble’s extensive network and actionable insights, we are poised to rapidly evolve AI capable of addressing even the most complex specialities, like inpatient claims. This helps ensure that providers benefit from precise, efficient coding processes while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and reimbursement accuracy.”

With a focus on precision and compliance, the solution is expected to enhance revenue accuracy for hospitals and continuously refine coding algorithms.

The collaboration aims to implement the autonomous coding technology across Ensemble’s client base, which includes 27 health systems and represents a net patient revenue of $40bn.

Ensemble founder and CEO Judson Ivy said: “This strategic partnership is not merely about automating coding; it underscores our commitment to integrating AI solutions across the entire revenue cycle.

“These solutions will empower our operators to concentrate on complex case reviews rather than administrative tasks, ultimately enhancing claim precision and improving revenue accuracy for hospitals and health systems.”

The strategic collaboration between Ensemble and Solventum is expected to empower healthcare providers by reducing administrative workloads.

This initiative follows Ensemble’s previous collaboration with Independence Health System in November 2024, aimed at delivering end-to-end revenue cycle services to various healthcare facilities, including Butler Memorial Hospital and Clarion Hospital.
