EquipX, a provider of artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled strategic equipment management solutions, has entered a collaborative agreement with US-based healthcare performance improvement company Vizient to optimise procurement and management of healthcare equipment.

The agreement brings together EquipX’s Cloud-based AI software platform and Vizient’s expertise in performance enhancement.

It is poised to boOST the procurement, functioning, and upkeep of imaging and laboratory apparatus, encompassing surgical robots, to improve operational efficacy.

EquipX offers procurement recommendations by analysing fleet utilisation, age, and maintenance data, which is expected to aid Vizient provider customers in making better equipment purchasing decisions.

Access to EquipX’s medical equipment analytics will enable healthcare providers to optimise their equipment fleet portfolio, ensuring effective patient care tools are available.

Moreover, the partnership promises cost savings by combining Vizient’s catalogue with EquipX’s AI-enabled cost optimisation analytics.

Healthcare providers can anticipate reduced expenses on equipment procurement, operations, and maintenance.

The collaboration also aims to improve the return on capital by facilitating rapid decision-making for capital allocation, thus optimising patient care and investment returns.

EquipX will offer a suite of support services for its platform, which will encompass installation, training, and ongoing maintenance.

These services are designed to enable long-term financial sustainability for healthcare providers.

EquipX president and co-founder Jeff Aronson said: “We are thrilled to work with Vizient and bring our innovative medical equipment solutions to a wider audience.

“US health systems are spending billions to acquire, operate and maintain their expensive clinical equipment fleets. This relationship will enable Vizient provider customers to optimise this spending in a way that delivers the highest patient care at the lowest cost. Together, we will set new standards in strategic equipment management.”
