The anticipated completion of the project is by the end of 2027.

Queensland Health, Mental Health, and Ambulance Services Minister Shannon Fentiman: “The second stage of the expansion will see 200 additional beds built, delivering enhanced care for West Moreton residents across a range of health services.

“Our government is proud to be delivering the health infrastructure Queensland needs, no matter where they live.”

The expansion is a critical component of the Queensland government’s unprecedented A$14bn Health Big Build, part of Queensland’s Big Build initiative.

The initiative aims to provide advanced healthcare to the rapidly growing population by increasing the capacity of 11 existing hospitals, constructing three new ones, establishing seven satellite hospitals, and creating a dedicated cancer centre.

Queensland’s Health Big Build initiative is poised to deliver over 3,300 additional hospital beds across Queensland, with 199 set to be available in 2023 and a further 239 in 2024.
