US-based diagnostics and preventative health company Fountain Life has acquired health data technology company LifeOmic for an undisclosed sum.

The deal covers LifeOmic’s intellectual property, which includes the LifeOmic Platform and software, the LifeOmic Patient Mobile App and a collection of consumer-oriented mobile apps, as well as science-based educational content.

It also brings a team of coders, designers and engineers to Fountain Life.

This team’s proficiency in data platforms, AI systems and the development and deployment of medical technology will contribute to the enhancement of Fountain Life’s data-driven preventive care membership services.

LifeOmic CEO and founder Don Brown said: “I am thrilled to be part of an organisation leveraging the latest science and technology to disrupt the healthcare system with a focus on preventing disease and, when necessary, finding and treating it at the earliest possible stage.”

The LifeOmic platform consists of Cloud data storage, genomic data analysis, electronic health record (EHR) integration, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning capabilities.

The platform will enable Fountain Life to perform data acquisition, storage, scrubbing and categorisation.

Other benefits include member-facing apps and experiences, physician-facing EHRs and data analysis, as well as training and interface with AI algorithms and large language models.

The LifeOmic platform complements Fountain Life’s Digital and Fountain @Home offerings, as well as its Functional Medicine Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.

Fountain Life CEO and co-founder Bill Kapp said: “The integration of LifeOmic’s technology will enable us to augment the technology that serves as the foundation for our services.

“While today, we are delivering proactive care through Fountain Life centres throughout the US, our plan is to make the same services available to individuals anywhere at any time, eventually even in their homes.

“LifeOmic’s tools will be critical to this expansion.”
