Guthrie has announced the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Guthrie Cortland Renzi Health Campus, a new health facility for the Cortland community in New York, set to open for patients on 9 December 2024.

Spanning 32,000ft2, the campus will provide a range of health care services, including lab, imaging, walk-in, and expanded care in a primary care clinic initially.

The clinic is named in tribute to Deborah and Stephen Geibel.

Guthrie Medical Group Northern Region senior director Marie Darling said: “We understand that a primary care provider is important on many fronts.

“The relationship that is built with a primary care provider assists in achieving health goals and is the gateway to preventative screenings and specialty care services needed along the way. We respect the importance of this relationship and are actively recruiting more primary care providers to this region to support the community’s engagement in their overall health.”

The facility plans to introduce specialty care services such as orthopaedics, plastic surgery, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, and pain management from spring 2025.

In a move to enhance health care accessibility, Guthrie is also establishing a tele-medicine hub at the campus, which will enable patients in rural areas to consult with Guthrie’s network of specialists virtually.

This development is part of Guthrie’s ongoing commitment to expanding health care services in underserved communities.

The project represents a significant investment in the Cortland community by Guthrie and has been realised with the support of community partner and donor, Nicholas Renzi.

This health campus revitalises the former JM Murray Center, a previously vacant property, through a partnership with The McNeil Development Company.

The Guthrie Cortland Renzi Health Campus has been designed as a NYS Clean Heat facility. Its design features technology to optimise energy usage and minimise its carbon footprint.
