Marshfield Clinic Health System has announced that its new hospital at Stevens Point is set to open in May this year.

The hospital will be named ‘Marshfield Medical Center-River Region at Stevens Point’.

The hospital expansion will be next to Marshfield Clinic Stevens Point Center at 4100 State Highway 66.

Upon completion of the expanded medical campus, Marshfield Medical Center-River Region at Stevens Point will include a surgical suite with operating and procedural rooms, 29 specialty services, physical and occupational therapy, 12 hospital inpatient beds, and emergency services.

Urgent care, adult and paediatric primary care, lab, imaging, and optical services will also be included.

The expanded medical campus will also offer a full spectrum of cancer care at Marshfield Clinic Cancer Center.

Marshfield Clinic Health System CEO Dr Susan Turney said: “These hospital projects represent the continued progress of our strategy to expand access to excellent care for rural communities.

“We made a promise to those we serve that we would provide care how, when and where they want to receive it, and we are proud to keep delivering on that promise.”

The company plans to commence construction on a new hospital in Wisconsin Rapids this year, with operations expected in 2023.

The project will be located adjacent to the existing Marshfield Clinic Wisconsin Rapids Center at 220 24th Street South.

It will include expanded radiological services, inpatient beds, and an emergency department.

Marshfield Clinic Health System also plans to expand its services in Medford with a new medical facility.

The facility will provide emergency medicine and hospital services, primary and specialty physicians to the Medford community.

It will also include licensed hospital beds, lab and imaging services, emergency department, and a multi-specialty medical group.

Construction work on the facility is also scheduled to commence this year, with an aim to begin operations in 2023.
