Med-Metrix has announced the acquisition of tech-enabled company Hospital Billing & Collection Service (HBCS), a move set to bolster its comprehensive end-to-end revenue cycle management (RCM) offerings.

With the acquisition, Med-Metrix gained access to HBCS’ patient financial engagement solutions and insurance reimbursement capabilities, which will be integrated into the former’s existing services.

HBCS focuses on delivering a complete suite of RCM solutions and has been serving health systems across the US since 1985.

The company works with more than 75 hospital and physician groups, providing sustainable revenue cycle improvements through its billing and follow-up tools.

Despite the acquisition, HBCS will continue to serve its customers, maintaining a diversified mix of healthcare providers.

The strategic deal is poised to enhance Med-Metrix’s value proposition as a trusted partner to healthcare providers, addressing their end-to-end RCM needs.

Furthermore, HBCS is set to augment the back-end RCM capabilities of Med-Metrix, while adding patient account resolution solutions for improved patient engagement and better outcomes.

Both the companies did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.

HBCS president and CEO Brian Wasilewski said: “Our top priority has always been to respond to the needs of our clients. As a combined force with Med-Metrix, we will be better positioned to execute that mandate.

“Looking back at the growth of HBCS over the last few decades, I am very proud of the results our team has realised for our customers, and we look forward to building upon our success in partnership with Med-Metrix and their market leading proprietary software and end-to-end RCM service capabilities.”
