The MOSAIC Community Clinic (MCC) is designed to serve diverse priority populations, including newcomers, First Nations, Inuit and Métis, new mothers and babies, people with mental health challenges and those facing homelessness or unstable housing.
The MCC is part of the Burnaby Primary Care Network (PCN), comprising clinics and healthcare professionals that cater to the community’s health needs.
BC health minister Josie Osborne said: “This clinic is the result of the collaboration between MOSAIC and the Burnaby PCN, along with essential contributions from Fraser Health, the Burnaby Division of Family Practice, and the Burnaby Inter-Agency Council.”
This network is a key component of BC’s Primary Care Strategy, which emphasises team-based care.
The clinic’s team consist of nurse practitioners, family physicians, lactation consultants, social workers and registered nurses.

Burnaby-New Westminster MLA Raj Chouhan said: “This new clinic gives more options to people who need health-care support that fits with their busy lives, and we’re grateful to have it in the heart of our community.”
Primary care services at the MCC include immunisations, routine check-ups, management of chronic diseases, women’s and children’s health services, patient education and specialist referrals.
To ensure that patients are matched with the right primary care providers, the MCC utilises BC’s Health Connect Registry, with additional support from community agencies, to reach out to priority groups.
Mosaic is to operate the clinic in partnership with the Burnaby PCN, Fraser Health, the Burnaby Division of Family Practice, the Burnaby Inter-Agency Council, and the Ministry of Health.
