Swoop company MyHealthTeam has launched the Spanish-language patient community, MyCrohnsAndColitisTeam en español, to provide support and medically reviewed content for patients with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.

This initiative follows the launch of myHIVteam en español in October 2024 and marks the company’s focus on serving the Hispanic community in the US.

The development of MyCrohnsAndColitisTeam en español is inspired by the growth of its English-language counterpart.

The site offers a wealth of content, which is created by a team of Spanish-speaking writers, editors, and medical professionals.

It aims to deliver a patient experience that resonates with the specific cultural nuances and lived experiences of Hispanic individuals.

MyHealthTeam president and co-founder Eric Peacock said: “We hope this Spanish-language community and medically approved content will make it easier for Spanish-speaking people to get the information and validation that will lead to the treatment they need.”

Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic conditions that cause inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract, leading to a range of symptoms and complications.

The new platform provides a resource for Spanish-speaking patients, with articles that cover symptoms, diagnostic procedures, and treatment options.

It also offers insights into managing the diseases, including advice on obtaining financial assistance and tips for communicating with healthcare providers.

The platform extends beyond mere translation, offering a fully immersive experience with content that reflects the unique cultures and expressions of the Spanish-speaking audience.

MyCrohnsAndColitisTeam en español facilitates easy access to information and a supportive community for those sharing the same diagnosis.

Additionally, it provides community engagement support in both English and Spanish, ensuring inclusivity for all members.

Looking ahead, MyHealthTeam is poised to expand its network of patient communities in Spanish.
