Navenio has entered a partnership with Pavion to deploy its Real-Time Location Services (RTLS) at a major US hospital to enhance nurse call systems.

Pavion is a leading distributor of the Rauland Responder intelligent nurse call system, which is deployed by over 4,000 hospitals in 40 countries to enhance communication, accuracy, and response times and cut down on errors.

Navenio’s technology can integrate seamlessly into existing nurse call systems and critical clinical and workflow systems. Furthermore, the deployment of Navenio’s RTLS does not require any additional infrastructure.

Before, nurse call systems used beacon-based hardware that needed large investments for hospitals. Navenio’s RTLS is claimed to need minimal investment in terms of time and resources.

The first deployment will take place at a nearly 700-bed federal hospital and research organisation near Washington DC.

This smartphone-based RTLS brings together several technologies to create an indoor location service with an artificial intelligence tasking engine providing quick actionable insight.

The hands-free RTLS enables nurses to respond quickly to patient calls and automatically turn off patient’s call signals. It also records response times to enhance patient satisfaction metrics.

Navenio CEO Connie Moser said: “We are thrilled to begin our US roll-out with such a prestigious research and hospital organisation and a partner like Pavion.

“The nurse call technology is a great example of where workforce efficiency can really improve the nurse and patient experience without invasive technology.”

Extending functionality beyond the nurse call system, Navenio’s solution can be leveraged for other processes to increase workforce efficiency in areas such as housekeeping, environmental services, food service, and pharmacy services.

Pavion director of sales Said Robin Nishiyama said: “We are thrilled to have access to Navenio and are looking forward to sharing this innovative technology with other hospital partners.

“The accuracy of their solution, down to room level is just incredible and, combined with lower costs and relatively simple implementation, very compelling compared to other options.”
