Children’s of Alabama, a private not-for-profit hospital in Alabama, US, has chosen to implement iSirona’s device connectivity solution.
The hospital will use iSirona’s software to streamline the delivery of medical device data into its Allscripts electronic medical records, thereby eliminating the need for manual transcription by clinicians.

Using iSirona’s software solution, hospitals can connect any medical device to their CIS, providing clinicians with faster access to accurate patient information.
The hospital said it will begin its connectivity efforts with 131 beds in its critical care units, collecting data from over 300 ventilators, pumps and monitors.
Children’s of Alabama is currently undergoing a $400m expansion, scheduled to open in August 2012.
