US-based Beaumont Health has collaborated with University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) and its supply contracting firm Novation to increase cost savings and supply chain performance improvement.
With eight hospitals and 163 outpatient sites, Beaumont Health includes Beaumont Health System, Botsford Health Care, and Oakwood Healthcare.
Under the two-year partnership, Beaumont Health will be provided access to Novation’s price-competitive supply contracts and UHC’s supply chain analytics, in addition to offering consulting and tools for improving supply utilisation and standardisation.
Beaumont Health supply chain senior vice-president Mike Langlois said: "The dynamics of our market are constantly changing, and supply chain decisions have a greater impact on enterprise-wide performance than ever before.
"We look forward to building on our past partnership with UHC and scaling new heights in our supply chain that will support our mission to provide high-quality and efficient care to the communities we serve."
Novation’s procurement solutions will support Beaumont Health to aggregate purchasing across its facilities, while UHC will help to develop strategies for achieving sustainable cost reduction.
Beaumont Health will also deploy UHC’s supply chain business intelligence tool SpendLINK to take strategic sourcing decisions.
SpendLINK tool will aggregate contracting and procurement data and provides price competitiveness of their supplier contracts relative to those of other hospitals and health systems.
In addition, UHC will provide its educational resources and programmes, including its Value Analysis Programme and Technology Assessment Programme to Beaumont Health .
UHC supply chain senior vice-president Jake Groenewold said: "Over the past two years, UHC and Beaumont Health System have had a successful partnership focused on helping the system achieve greater savings across its supply chain."
