Covenant Health, a health delivery network and not-for-profit healthcare, has launched telemedicine technology at four of its nursing facilities in New England.
TripleCare is a telemedicine platform intended for skilled nursing facilities (SNF). It will bolster care delivery and reduce hospital admissions at Covenant skilled nursing facilities in Maine (St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion-Lewiston) and the Greater Boston area – Mary Immaculate-Lawrence, St. Joseph Manor-Brockton and Maristhill-Waltham.
TripleCare’s virtual technology and services allows Covenant’s on-site nurses to link seamlessly with physicians to diagnose and treat patients during those hours when doctors are not available on site.
The virtual bedside visits enable TripleCare doctors to understand if patients need to be transported or can be treated in place.
St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston, Maine has been using TripleCare since September. Over 20 virtual visits to diagnose and treat patients have so far been performed.
St. Mary’s Transitional Rehab Units & Specialty Care Suites nurse manager Sarah Trafford said: “TripleCare is an excellent tool for our nurses to implement.
