US-based DPR Construction has broken ground on a new Gloria Drummond Physical Rehabilitation Institute, which is being developed for Boca Raton Regional Hospital.
The hospital is a 400-bed not-for-profit healthcare organisation that offers services, such as cardiovascular care, oncology, women’s health, orthopaedics, emergency medicine and neurosciences.
DPR West Palm Beach office regional manager Deborah Beetson said: "We’re thrilled to break ground and continue our relationship with Boca Raton Regional Hospital, building a foundation for quality care.
"DPR specialises in building high-performance healthcare facilities using advanced construction technology, which will provide the Gloria Drummond Physical Rehabilitation Institute with innovative modalities such as robotic-assisted neurological rehabilitation."
DPR is working with architect HKS on the multi-phased project, which will feature 33,000ft² of space.

By GlobalDataThe project will include the development of a new aquatic therapy centre that houses an accessible in-ground pool with special adaptive exercise features.
In addition, the project will include the renovation of existing therapy spaces and the upgrade of exterior features.
As part of the partnership with Boca Raton Hospital and HKS, DPR is also constructing the Christine E Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute, a 45,000ft² diagnostic and treatment facility that is expected to open in mid-2015.
DPR is currently involved in developing several projects in the state, including outpatient facilities, medical office buildings, medical research facilities and specialty hospitals.
