US-based DPR Construction has broken ground on a new Gloria Drummond Physical Rehabilitation Institute, which is being developed for Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

The hospital is a 400-bed not-for-profit healthcare organisation that offers services, such as cardiovascular care, oncology, women’s health, orthopaedics, emergency medicine and neurosciences.

DPR West Palm Beach office regional manager Deborah Beetson said: "We’re thrilled to break ground and continue our relationship with Boca Raton Regional Hospital, building a foundation for quality care.

"The project will include the development of a new aquatic therapy centre that houses an accessible in-ground pool with special adaptive exercise features."

"DPR specialises in building high-performance healthcare facilities using advanced construction technology, which will provide the Gloria Drummond Physical Rehabilitation Institute with innovative modalities such as robotic-assisted neurological rehabilitation."

DPR is working with architect HKS on the multi-phased project, which will feature 33,000ft² of space.
