US-based Envision Healthcare Holdings (EVHC) has signed an agreement with On Assignment to acquire Vista Staffing Solutions for an undisclosed sum.

Envision stated that the deal is expected to add around $135m to its annual net revenue.

Envision Healthcare Holdings president and CEO William Sanger said: "We staff thousands of clinicians each year so joining forces with the very talented team of one of the largest locum tenens physician staffing firms in the nation was a logical move.

"Vista’s business practices and systems will be key differentiators for us as we develop a comprehensive multi-speciality staffing practice for all levels of clinicians."

Vista provides locum tenens staffing and permanent placement services for physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

The company is involved in extended assignments, international placements and physician search, as well as providing consulting services to hospitals, medical practices and government agencies.

On Assignment president and CEO Peter Dameris said: We were approached by Envision, one of the largest and most respected healthcare companies in the industry, to acquire Vista Staffing Solutions and determined that this would greatly benefit both organisations, our employees and our shareholders."

Subject to certain closing conditions, the acquisition is expected to be completed within the next month.

With its 34,000 employees and affiliated clinicians, Envision provides an array of healthcare-related services to consumers, hospitals, healthcare systems, health plans and local, state and national government entities.
