Healthcare technology provider McKesson has implemented its Horizon Medical Imaging picture archiving communications system (PACS) and radiology imaging system (RIS) at four hospitals in Ireland.
The systems have been installed in Beaumont Hospital, Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Sligo General Hospital and Waterford Regional Hospital as part of the Irish Health Service Executive’s National Integrated Medical Imaging System initiative.
The system, will be installed in a further 31 Irish hospitals in the next 20 months.
McKesson’s solutions help ensure that all radiology studies are available to physicians at any time and in any location.
The Horizon Medical Imaging is a single solution that connects all public hospitals and standardises care via a central database that will serve as a national image archive.
McKesson is also installing 3D and visualisation, research tools and electrocardiography for cardiology.
