US-based Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE) has implemented DataMotion’s Direct Secure Messaging solution, in a bid to provide protected health information (PHI).
The solution is said to add universal interoperability and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant security to IHIE’s electronic delivery service.
IHIE runs health information exchange that offers interoperable health information technology to 106 hospitals, 110 clinics and surgery centres, rehabilitation centres community health clinics and other healthcare providers.
IHIE service delivery vice-president Keith Kelley said: "When our existing HISP notified us they were unable to continue their direct service to us, we needed to move decisively to support our contractual commitments to our subscribers.
"DataMotion projected confidence to meet our needs with a proven industry track record, broad EHR interoperability, ability to scale and operational excellence with rapid deployment schedules."
IHIE will use DataMotion Direct service, Direct Community Web Portal and DataMotion SecureMail Gateway to execute their mission of high-volume and protected message delivery.
